Our harvest !

The children were delighted with our vegetable harvest. We had carrots, courgettes, turnips and potatoes. There are still a few courgettes ripening in the bed along with some very tiny pumpkins ! We are already looking forward to planting more veg in the spring.

Music Generation Vocal Playshop

On Thursday , May 24th , our senior room went to a vocal work shop in Visual theatre in Carlow.   They  sang Bruno Maher’s ‘ Count on Me’ in front of a packed theatre.   After wards,  Michael Ó Shuilleabháin taught a vocal play  shop.  Michael is a famous rap artist who has worked along side Will smith .  The pupils really enjoyed learning about the different sounds their voices and bodies could make.

Birds of A Feather

Pupils in the senior room recently completed a unit of work on birds.  We went on a bird watching trip. We collected feathers and printed feathers in Art class.  As part of a STEM project, pupils designed and created bird houses.

May in the garden

Our Junior pupils have been enjoying the recent fine weather, making great use of our sandpit and having great fun pretending to be gardeners as part of our Aistear theme- the Garden Centre.

Meanwhile our seeds are doing well . We now have lettuce, turnip, carrot and chive seedlings in our raised bed. There are flowers appearing on our strawberry plants and we have pumpkin, courgette and pea plants started indoors , to be  transplanted in the coming weeks.
