Trip to the Theatre to see Boy with the Suitcase. By Sarah Joyce, 5th class .
As part of our Creative Schools programme, On Thursday the 7th of March we went to see a play called the Boy with a Suitcase by Mike Kenny. The play was incredible. There was only four actors but they were really good. The play was about a boy called Naz who had to leave his home because of war. He told a new story every time something happened. On his way,he meets a girl called Cretitia who helps him to get to his brother in Ireland. Cretitia is bold and brave and isn’t afraid of anything. While the two are on their way to Ireland, they get stuck in a seaside town. They get work for a man in a clothes factory. The man seems nice at first, but when he’s paying them, he’s very mean. After two years of working for the man, Cretitia has an idea. She sews the sleeves together, hundreds of them, and then blames it on Naz. While the man is shouting, Cretitia steals all the money and they try to escape. Eventually , Naz arrives in Dublin to meet his brother but unfortunately life is not much better for his older brother living as an Asylum Seeker in Dublin.
All Star Cooking Programme
Pupils are busy enjoying their 6 week All Star Cooking Programme sponsored by Super Value . As part of our Creative Sschools programme, pupils expressed strong interest to learn some Cooking skills in the classroom. We were fortunate that Super Value sponsored the equipment and food for us to to use. So far they have cooked scrambled eggs and Quesadillas while learning all about Food Nutrition and the Food Pyramid. They also organised and cooked pancakes for their own school pancake party .
