Our school teams recently received lovely new sports kits, thanks to the generous donation by the Bank Of Ireland. This  was organised by Nicola Burke, on behalf of  the parents association .The design and and ordering of the kit was undertaken by Thomas Doyle. We are very grateful to all involved and the children are looking forward to wearing their new kit the next time they represent the school on a sportsfield.

new year at school

O

One  month in and our new Infants have settled in well to their new school. One big happy group, shown here against the background of the lovely mural we created last year and using our new benches.

Wall Mural

As Part of Our Creative Schools Programme , a local Artist , Mary Wallace came to work with all of us to design an paint a beautiful Mural. We decided to pick the Theme ‘Local  Flora and Fauna’ because our school is surrounded by beautiful mountains, scenery and an abundance of Flora and Fauna . We have spent some Science classes recently learning about our local Flora and Fauna.  On her first Day here, Mary helped us to practice sketching some different flowers , animals and insects. She also helped us to imagine what our mural might look like. We did some more sketches. She collaborated all of our drawings to create the final mural design . We can all say now we designed and drew some section of the mural. The next four days were spent learning how to mix paints, toning and shading and drawing and painting our mural on the wall. We are so proud of our finished piece.
