Pupils and staff are thrilled with our 12 new IPADS to add to our collection of laptops amd IPADs and our new Device Trolley. We can now say when using ICT in class we have a device per pupil !

STEM PROJECT Lighthouses
Pupils first learrned all about circuits and Electricty. They investigated conductors amd insulators of electricty by carrying out some experiments. They created home made switches and then created lighhouses from recycled materials and paiper maiche. The lighthouses really do switch on and off ! Pupils really enjoyed this STEM project. Well done to all !
Water Ecology Workshop
Senior room pupils enjoyed a wonderful field trip to the local stream for a Water Ecology workshop with local heritage expert, Lorraine O’ Sullivan. We are very blessed to have a school close by a stream and surrounded by beautiful scenery for some hands on activities. Pupils examined the the life of waterbugs & freshwater creatures. We were all truly amazed to discover the biodiversityof creatures living in &around waterways. Pupils observed waterbugs under the digital microscope and learned to re cognise how certain species indicate the health of a waterway. They also examine & handled a taxidermy collection of native birds & mammals.
Our junior pupils are enjoying the recent fine weather. They are making great use of our sandpit and have had great fun pretending to be gardeners as part of our Aistear theme – the garden centre. Meanwhile our vegetable seeds are growing well and we now have lettuce ,carrot, turnip , spinach and chive seedlings appearing in our raised bed. Our strawberry plants are starting to flower and we have peas, courgette and pumpkin seedlings inside the classroom . these willl be transplanted in the next few weeks
Cumman na mBunscol – Hurling
Well done to all the players on our School Hurling Team . Unfortunately we didn’t get to the final, but they played so well and did us proud.
As a small school , every pupil who has an interest in playing hurling, soccer or any sport will always make the
school team and have an opportunity to 
play .
